Brief Description

Cybersecurity Manager

The Cybersecurity Manager is responsible for leading the development and implementation of comprehensive cybersecurity strategies for automotive vehicles and systems. This role requires a proactive individual who can anticipate and respond to cybersecurity threats, ensure compliance with industry standards, and safeguard company and customer data across Karma’s vehicle and product technologies.

Responsibilities (included, but are not limited to):

  • Develop and maintain the organization’s cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  • Lead the identification, analysis, and mitigation of potential threats to Karma’s vehicle and product technologies.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate cybersecurity measures into product design and development.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure the effectiveness of Karma’s cybersecurity protocols.
  • Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
  • Manage incident response activities, including investigation and reporting of security breaches.
  • Provide training and guidance to Karma staff on cybersecurity best practices.
  • Assist project team in developing and delivering all Cybersecurity-related project deliverables.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on automotive or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of automotive systems and network architectures.
  • Proficiency in security software, as well as experience with threat modeling and risk assessment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development, with a focus on enhancing expertise in regulatory affairs beyond one’s initial area of proficiency.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience leading through influence.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

Preferred Qualifications (In Addition To Required)

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar are highly desirable.
  • Experience in Cybersecurity with a major OEM or global Tier 1 on production intent development programs.
  • Detailed knowledge of Battery Electric, hybrid powertrain, energy storage subsystems and controls

Compensation:

$121,000 - 150,000 /annual salary. Compensation will vary DOE.

At Karma, our base pay is one part of our total rewards package.

Compensation offered may vary on multiple factors, including market location, education, skills and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position being offered.
