We are partnered with a Financial Services company who are looking for an experienced and strategic Corporate VP/Dir of Tax to join their New York Tax team. In this role you will work to build and grow the financial strategy and compliance efforts and ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in tax planning, compliance, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive tax strategies that align with the company’s financial goals and business operations.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations. Oversee the preparation and review of all tax returns and filings.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate tax-related risks. Provide strategic advice on tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing tax team. Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
Financial Reporting: Oversee tax-related financial reporting and disclosures. Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Advisory: Act as a key advisor to the executive team on all tax-related matters. Provide insights and recommendations to optimize tax positions.
Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and other stakeholders. Manage relationships with external tax advisors and consultants.
Mergers and Acquisitions: Provide tax due diligence and strategic input on mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions.
Qualifications:
Education: CPA or similar qualification.
Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in tax, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in a large corporation or public accounting firm is highly desirable.
