The Center of Excellence is responsible for mitigating payment risk across the direct-to-consumer businesses – Disney Experiences (Parks and Resorts and Disneystore.com) and Streaming (DE&ET, Disney Entertainment and ESPN Technology). This role is specific to the Disney Entertainment/ESPN segments, and entails working with the business to establish rules and controls within the fraud tools that are used.
The main purpose of this role is to manage the fraud rules strategy for the Disney Streaming function (Disney+, ESPN+, Star+) as well as reporting of key KPI metrics including fraud and chargeback rates. This will include building and developing partnerships, strategizing on fraud mitigation and processes, providing reporting to leadership and the lines of business, and aligning on upcoming projects and initiatives.
Responsibilities for the Role:
Manage overall risk strategy for the Disney Streaming function (Disney+, ESPN+, Star+) to help operationalize fraud rules within internal tools.
Primary liaison to various internal business partners - Streaming Business Operations, Engineering, Product, and Enterprise Consumer Payments
Participate and engage in risk mitigation strategic discussions with leadership and business partners.
Prepare executive communications and presentations on a regular cadence.
Manage chargeback representment strategy in conjunction with Accertify, a third party who will be handling the representments.
Optimize existing payments strategy to maintain (or reduce) chargebacks to sales ratios and other product abuse or revenue loss situations, including compliance with Card Network fraud rules and thresholds.
Partner with the business to discuss current fraud trends and proposed mitigation.
Provide reporting to business partners and leadership showing the current risk and trends.
As a user of the internal tools, work with both the Disney Streaming Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to improve the user experience.
Partner with other members of the COE (ie Payments Manager supporting DIsneyStores.com and Parks and Resorts) and the Streaming Operations, Product, and Engineering teams to stay aligned on mutual goals and objectives, top tools, and best practices of the COE
Basic Qualifications:
2+ years working in payments, payments fraud, or risk management
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Excellent excel skills
Intermediate understanding of payment ecosystem.
Preferred Qualifications:
Chargeback representment or fraud analysis experience
Certified Fraud Examiner certification
Criminal Justice minor
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or related field
