Community & Campus Relations Manager

The Community and Campus Relations Manager is a dynamic and strategic role essential to the growth and success of StartX. This individual will be responsible for sourcing and training mentors, judges, and volunteers. Additionally, they will cultivate and maintain strong relationships across Stanford University's campus to enhance StartX's visibility and collaboration with various departments, entrepreneurship classes, student organizations, and stakeholders.

Mentor, Judge, and Volunteer Management:

• Identify, recruit, and onboard mentors, judges, and volunteers who align with StartX's mission and values.
• Develop a framework to vet new community members, including mentors and judges.
• Develop and implement training programs to ensure all participants are
• well-prepared and effective in their roles.
• Maintain a database of mentors, judges, and volunteers, tracking their engagement and feedback.
• Ensure a positive experience for all StartX contributors and maintain ongoing relationships.

Campus Relations:

• Build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders across Stanford University, including faculty, staff, student organizations, and alumni groups.
• Represent StartX at campus events, meetings, and other forums to promote the organization and its initiatives.
• Collaborate with university departments to identify and leverage synergies between StartX and campus programs.

Event Coordination:

• Plan and execute events that facilitate interaction between StartX entrepreneurs and the Stanford community.
• Oversee a positive experience for founder admissions judging panels.
• Ensure events run smoothly and provide a high-quality experience for all participants.

Alumni Communication and Outreach:

• Develop and distribute materials to communicate opportunities for engagement with StartX.
• Help manage social media channels and newsletters to keep the alumni community informed and engaged.
• Create and deliver presentations to various alumni groups to increase awareness and involvement.

Program Development:

• Work with the StartX leadership team to develop programs that enhance the
• entrepreneurial ecosystem at Stanford.
• Gather feedback from mentors, judges, and volunteers to continuously
• improve the experience and impact of their involvement.
• Stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in community and campus relations to innovate and enhance StartX's strategies.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in community relations, campus engagement, or a related role, preferably within a university or startup environment.
• Strong interpersonal and networking skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in public speaking and presenting.
• Passion for entrepreneurship and innovation, with a deep understanding of the startup ecosystem.
• Proficiency in using CRM tools and project management software.
