Classification: Exempt, Full-time

Reports to: VP of Operations

Clinic Hours are as follows:

Mon – Fri: 9:00 am – 8:30 pm; Sat: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm & Sun: 9:00 am 5:00 pm.

Little Spurs Pediatric Urgent Care is seeking a Clinic Manager for the New Braunfels region. The Clinic Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations in the center(s). This position provides direction and leadership to ensure Little Spurs Pediatric Urgent Care (LSPUC) delivers high quality patient care while striving to grow clinic business, optimize operational efficiency, financial performance and patient satisfaction.

EDUCATION AND OR EXPERIENCE:

HS Diploma and: an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Nursing, Health Care Administration, Business Administration or Management is required.

  • RN, LPN, MA, NCT, RT or other applicable clinical license or certificate is beneficial.
  • 1 year of experience in the supervision of staff, including HR issues and performance evaluations.
  • 1 year of experience in a leadership role
  • 1 year of experience with an EHR to include patient registration, insurance verification, charting, and billing/coding.
  • eMDs EHR experience is preferred
  • 1 year experience with Inventory Management
  • 6 months of experience with Scheduling staff
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong written skills

  • Knowledge of Compliance, OSHA, Safety and HIPAA regulations
  • Experience with Hiring and training
  • Basic accounting knowledge and ability to read financial statements is preferred
  • Full Covid 19 vaccination is an essential requirement
  • American Heart Association BLS certification required prior to start date.
  • Knowledge of Medical Assisting skills preferred


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Oversees all day to day operations, including staffing, patient flow and compliance with operational and clinical standards, and identifies opportunities for improvement within the center
  • Holds Daily Huddles and regular staff meetings with clinic team to review issues, processes, and communicates new developments and addresses performance improvement opportunities
  • Time allocation is expected to be approx. 25% admin (Clinic Manager duties)/75% working clinic shifts. This allocation may flex depending on patient volumes and corresponding staffing requirements
  • Interview, hire, train, and supervise clinic staff with the assistance of HR personnel and LS management team as needed
  • Develop and lead the execution of goals and objectives in support of overall clinic performance and operations
  • Ensure resources are available, including supplies and equipment, to maintain effective center operations
  • Coordinate with Marketing team on outreach efforts to build favorable relationships with local schools, pediatricians and primary care physicians to grow referrals and patient volumes
  • Communicate regularly with LS management and providers as needed to quickly resolve issues, coordinate with peers at other centers (markets) and provide recommendations as required
  • Depending on specific clinic need, as well as Clinic Manager’s background/experience and licensure, will cover shifts either in the front office or clinical areas.
  • Maintain center operations in compliance with regulatory requirements standards and clinic accreditations
  • Provide leadership and guidance to improve patient, provider, and staff satisfaction
  • Fosters a strong, collaborative relationship with clinic providers and staff
  • Serves as a day-to-day liaison for our provider staff, providing leadership support to our team of physicians, practitioners, and PA’s
  • Responsible for creating a fair, open environment for all teammates. Ensures consistency of treatment and application of policy
  • Reports directly to VP Operations
  • Assists with the resolution of patient complaints with follow-up and reports complaint results to VP Operations and if necessary HR Manager and CEO
  • Administers monthly schedule (non-providers), approve requests for time off & assists with completion of time cards for clinic(s) staff for payroll
  • Notifies HR Manager of personnel changes and requirements in a timely manner
  • Documents employees’ attendance records and disciplinary action.
  • Communicates with HR Manager for personnel issues
  • Notifies VP of Operations, CMO, and HR Manager immediately if/when OSHA or HIPPA violations occur. Completes all reports/paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Conduct timely and constructive annual performance evaluations of direct reports.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy
  • Ensures patient safety and assists with company safety program
  • All other duties as assigned
