We seek a dynamic Business Development Representative based on the West Coast to join our expanding team. This role is ideal for candidates on the West Coast, encompassing states such as Texas, Oregon, and Washington.

Role Description

Eberhard is seeking a Business Development Representative (BDR) to drive business growth. The BDR will identify new business opportunities, expand Eberhard's presence, and build relationships with customers and stakeholders. The BDR must possess learning agility and interpersonal skills to partner with internal teams, become a product sales expert, and drive market growth. Their primary responsibilities include prospecting new customers, providing product training, developing pricing strategies, participating in trade shows and innovation initiatives, and sharing progress reports while maintaining transparency.

Core Responsibilities:

  • The Business Development Representative engages with customers and prospective customers, ultimately driving toward increased market share and sales, increased margin, and profit targets.
  • Collaborate with their leader to create a plan for engaging with customers and prospective customers. The plan should identify the key markets, customers, and products that drive expected growth.
  • Establish personal relationships with accounts to identify customer needs while proactively promoting Eberhard's capabilities.
  • Collaborate with senior management to craft and execute growth strategies. This involves setting objectives, developing proposals, and designing frameworks for these strategies.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, marketing, and product management to ensure ongoing alignment with market needs and create market-driven solutions.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure products meet customer needs and regulations.
  • Prepare and present business performance reports to senior management, outlining progress, risks, and opportunities, which include sales forecasts, revenue generated, and the effectiveness of business strategies.
  • Actively identifies new market trends and emerging technologies or products to generate opportunity maps and pipelines.
  • Assist the product development and engineering team by providing insights based on market analysis, customer feedback, and emerging trends to enhance the new product development pipeline.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key industry partners, suppliers, and customers. This includes negotiating contracts, managing partnerships, and identifying opportunities for collaboration that enhance product offerings and reach.
  • Assist the sales team by identifying and nurturing leads, attending trade shows and industry events, and leveraging networks to expand business opportunities.
  • The role involves traveling to manage the market, with an estimated 30-50% frequency.


Minimum Educational Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree from a 4-year accredited college or university, preferably with a focus in Engineering or Accounting OR the combined work experience to perform the duties at a high level of success.


Minimum Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of four years of experience with proven results is required in sales and/or business development.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and foster meaningful relationships.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Customer Relations Management (CRM) software.
  • Excellent time management and planning skills.
  • High level of energy, motivation, and drive.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Creative talents and the ability to solve challenging problems.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • A valid license along with a clean driving record.
