Our partner located in Bloomington, MN is seeking a Building Engineer to oversee a team of technicians responsible for the maintenance and service of HVAC equipment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the facility's systems are running efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities:
Lead a team of Technicians in conducting preventative maintenance and repairs on all HVAC equipment
Develop and execute a comprehensive training program for Engineering Department team members
Train all team members on the operation, service, and maintenance of HVAC Systems
Maintain records of repairs, service performed, and maintenance schedules
Respond promptly to emergency calls related to HVAC Systems and other safety systems, taking necessary corrective action
Utilize the Andover Building Management system for system control and troubleshooting
Assist in the development of preventative maintenance schedules and optimization of tasks
Ensure safety protocols are followed in the work area and surrounding spaces
Provide exceptional guest service, both internally and externally
Support Engineering Supervisor with documentation and inventory management
Assist other departments with tasks as required
Maintain consistent attendance
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in the refrigeration field
At least 3 years of experience in building systems operation and preventative maintenance
Minimum 3 years of related experience in HVAC system repair and maintenance
Trade school or Vocational/Technical Certificate in commercial or industrial refrigeration, air conditioning service, or equivalent experience
Knowledge of HVAC system operation, with familiarity in air systems and components preferred
Certification for refrigerant recovery
Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints and plumbing drawings
Availability to work weekends, holidays, and be on call 24/7
Experience in other areas of building repair and maintenance is advantageous
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
Current Minnesota Power Limited License
5 years of field experience in HVAC system operation
5 years of experience with Building and Life Safety Systems
Previous supervisory experience is a plus
