Position Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Finance to lead our Finance Office. This role is crucial for driving financial planning, compliance, and reporting excellence. The AVP of Finance will partner with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the university.

Key Responsibilities:

- Leadership & Management:
- Oversee the Finance Office, including hiring, mentoring, and supporting staff.
- Lead the financial planning process and develop long-term financial projections.

- Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Conduct budget analysis and expenditure control.
- Report on financial performance and trends to support decision-making.

- Policy & Compliance:
- Develop and implement financial policies and internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and lead various audit processes.

- Grant & Contract Management:
- Oversee the management of federal, state, and private grant awards.
- Facilitate contract review and ensure compliance with financial policies.

- Debt & Treasury Management:
- Manage institutional debt and treasury operations, including cash flow forecasting and banking relationships.

Qualifications:

Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 8-10 years of financial accounting experience, including 3+ years in management.
- A maturing and contagious Christian faith, knowledge of and willingness to actively support the Christian mission of the University and accept the lifestyle standards of the Christian community. - Strong GAAP knowledge, CPA license (active or inactive).
- Advanced Excel skills and adaptability to various software tools.

Preferred:
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or an MBA.
- 6+ years of financial planning and accounting experience.
- CMA or CGMA designation.
- Experience in public accounting, university, or not-for-profit finance.
- ERP implementation experience and familiarity with Banner.
