Seeking a gastroenterology physician in Michigan for a growing service line, to join its progressive, supportive team.

  • Call is 1:4 and hospital patients are admitted by a 24/7 hospitalist program
  • Teaching opportunities are also available.
  • Perform routine GI procedures.
  • ERCP is required and EUS is optional.

DUTIES:

Inpatient rounding/call coverage one-week a month and outpatient procedures/clinic three weeks a month.

Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of the field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments. Successfully apply complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in areas of specialization. Demonstrates knowledge of organization's business practices and issues. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: BS/BA in related discipline or Advanced degree (or equivalent Work experience). Five to eight (5-8) years of successful experience in related field. ITIL and or other industry certifications, preferred. PMP, preferred. Experience in a Health Care environment and familiarity with HIPAA, preferred.

This position offers an opportunity to be engaged in the full spectrum of cases cared for in an academic medical center and Level 1 Trauma Center.

  • Flex position between community hospital and ambulatory surgical center in the Worcester area
  • Case mix: Ortho, gen surg, urology, plastics, GI. No pediatric or OB required
  • Home Call only, required 1 weekday call per week, 1 weekend call per month
  • Built in post call days to ensure work life balance
  • Orthopedic surgery heavy practice, regional anesthesia skills required
  • You will have supervision of CRNAs in the anesthesia care team model.
  • You may take part in educating our residents in a fully integrated, outstanding training program.
  • We offer opportunities to participate in education and medical simulation, QI work and research.
  • The anesthesia team conducts an average of 60,000 anesthetics per year across our Medical Center

An academic appointment is awarded commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Eligible individuals should have the following qualifications:

  • Must hold a MD or DO degree and qualify for a Massachusetts license
  • Be board certified or board eligible in anesthesiology
