Actuarial Analyst

We are currently seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join FCCI’s Actuarial Pricing team. We are looking for an actuarial student with successful completion of 2 – 3 exams. The selected individual will provide quantitative and qualitative support for actuarial pricing and filings, product development, financial analysis, management reporting, and other actuarial research, applying actuarial concepts and computing tools. The Actuarial Analyst will assist the Pricing team with rate reviews, rate filings, and data prep while acquiring knowledge and understanding of actuarial concepts and principles. This includes extracting and processing input data, ensuring data quality, preparing and updating actuarial rate reviews and filings, documenting assumptions, and responding to insurance department inquiries. The Analyst will be adept in computer technology, programming languages, and software tools in order to extract and integrate data from various databases to analyze and develop reports and spreadsheets.

Qualifications

Bachelors or better in Mathematics or related field

Experience

Required

  • Minimum of two years of actuarial pricing and filings experience, (actuarial reserving experience / knowledge a plus).
  • Successful completion of at least 2 – 3 actuarial exams.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft VBA, Excel, SQL, and at least one Statistical Programming Language.
  • Ability to define problems, troubleshoot issues, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong quantitative, mathematical, and analytical skills to analyze and prepare data for use in actuarial reports and databases.
  • Self-motivated, with time management and organizational skills, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with various levels across the organization and externally to meet business needs.
  • A positive track record & desire to learn and share knowledge, as well as a desire to be mentored for continuous success and improvement.
