GLP1s - incredibly effective at addressing obesity, the US' top public health crisis. Also effective for a slew of associated diseases, such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Also incredibly expensive. Rather than the same old same old, I have an "off the cuff" proposal: 🏛 CMS covers GLP1s for all Americans with obesity, broadly expanding access and lowering prices. 🏃‍♀️ Mandatory exercise & nutrition programs for all GLP1 users. Also, broad educational campaigns similar to smoking cessation campaigns. Fund with a 5% tax on GLP1 revenues. ⚡ Identify the 10% of most toxic foods offered by national restaurants (like the pumpkin spice poison highlighted on the video below). Surgeon General's warnings on those items, tax national chains 20% of revenues for those items, block restaurants from advertising those items. 💰 Offer Americans $500 for 12 month sustained 5% BMI reduction, up to $1500 per year. So start with a BMI of 40 (which applies to 24M Americans), reduce to 36 in one year and earn $1000. Reduce to 32 in the next year and earn another $1000. Taking off My Mask: The True Cost of Success I stood on stages, accepted awards, and led global initiatives that impacted thousands—yet every time I looked in the mirror, I saw a fraud. Despite the accolades, the recognition, and the leadership role I held at #BoozAllenHamilton, I battled daily with imposter syndrome. The weight of my past—years of trauma and abuse—was always lurking beneath the surface, telling me I didn’t deserve any of it. My success became a mask I wore to hide the deep scars, convincing myself that if I achieved enough, I could outrun the pain. But the truth is, no matter how many awards I received, including top honors from #TrainingMagazine and #ATD, I never felt worthy. The more I succeeded, the heavier the mask became. #ImposterSyndrome convinced me that I was a fluke. It had its grip on me, whispering at any moment, someone would pull back the curtain and expose me. It wasn’t until years later, after intense personal work and reflection, that I understood the cost of wearing that mask. I had achieved so much, but I had done it while running from my own truth, denying the parts of me that needed the most care. Breaking Free The turning point came when I decided to break my silence. My past wasn’t something to be hidden or overcome—it was something to be embraced. By sharing my story, both the triumphs and the struggles, I took off the mask. I realized that vulnerability is strength, not weakness as society likes to tell us. True leadership comes from allowing ourselves to be seen—all of us. Now, my value is no longer in the awards or the success, it's in my resilience, in the lessons I’ve learned, and in my ability to help others remove their masks too.
