What happened to the #GenAI sector? The latest PitchBook report showed a 76% drop in #GenerativeAI seed funding from the Q3 2023 peak. #VC deal-value for #preseed and #seed stage deals fell in Q1 2024 to $122.9 million, a far cry from Q3's peak of $517.7 million. It reflects a broader trend where investors opt for a Wait-And-See approach after the initial surge of excitement. And why it happened? Both the release of OpenAI's #GPT and the question of whether GenAI startups can deliver sustainable returns in a highly competitive landscape. What next? I believe when the GenAI market is now maturing, we will see those startups that failed to raise capital close. Also, I predict that with the release of #AGI we will see a significant disturbance, while many companies will no longer be relevant.
