They must pay particularly…

    NYU's Board of Trustees is composed of great individuals that have come together to make the world's premier research University. As directors of a nonprofit and as leaders of an institution responsible for educating the next generation of world leaders and for creating new knowledge, trustees are the keepers of the mission of NYU: Educating qualified individuals from all walks of life to become the leaders of the local, national, and, now, international community. They must pay particularly close attention to the mission and the obligations to society that are unique to the academic enterprise. NYU's Board of Trustees is the overall fiduciaries for the University. As such it is responsible for, among other things, creating policy, setting mission and purpose, strategic planning, reviewing programs, and relating campus to community and community to campus. Chief among its roles is fund-raising for the University, as well as engaging our alumni, parent, and student communities.

    The Guyana Economic Development Trust (GEDT) is an independent, U.S. based philanthropic initiative, unaffiliated with any political party or organization, that incubates projects to expand the number of enterprises in Guyana, South America. GEDT's signature project is the Guyana Innovation Prize, a competitive grant that provides pre-seed funding to commercialize research from students, faculty and alumni of the University of Guyana and Guyana School of Agriculture.

    New Jersey SEEDS (Scholars, Educators, Excellence, Dedication, Success) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1992 that prepares motivated, high-achieving, low-income students for admission to private schools and colleges across the country. Approximately 350 students will be served by SEEDS’ academic programs this year, with more than 500 additional students receiving additional support through SEEDS’ Guidance department. An additional 1,800 alumni continuing their educations or in the workforce. Each of our programs provides a demanding course of study designed to develop the intellectual and leadership potential of our students and prepare them for long-term success. We strive to ensure that our students receive 90-100 percent in financial aid from the independent schools and colleges they attend. And we encourage our alumni to pursue lives of professional accomplishment, leadership and service to the community, thus realizing their full potential.
