During my involvement, I recognized the power of music to enhance people's quality of life and nourish the human spirit. As one of the largest community music schools in the country, MIC constantly set national standards for excellence in music education. The fact that it was the first community music school in Illinois to be accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music underscores the exceptional quality of instruction it provided. With its world-renowned faculty and exceptional creative arts therapy staff, the organization provided music education and clinical services across numerous inner-city sites, Chicago satellite locations, and its permanent campuses located in Evanston, Winnetka, Chicago, Downers Grove, Lake Bluff and Lake Forest.

During my time at Lambs Farm, I witnessed firsthand how the organization provided growth and opportunity to its residents and visitors, a testament to its founding values of love, dignity, and respect. Lambs Farm was born from the belief that there was a better way to support individuals with developmental disabilities. Its mission is rooted in the idea that everyone deserves the opportunity to work hard and contribute to society while also living as independently as possible. It was inspiring to see how Lambs Farm empowered individuals to develop new skills and gain confidence in their abilities while building a sense of community.
