Here's how you can enhance your problem-solving capabilities with data and analytics.
Pick a programming language. I like Python, though R and/or SAS are fine for non-production code. Solve the problem in Excel first, then replicate the analysis in your language of choice. Most people can run analyses in Excel, but being able to do so in a programming language will improve your abilities by an order of magnitude.

How can you ensure the preservation and accessibility of primary sources in archival research?
Applies to all forms of primary sources: If something isn't available digitally, it doesn't 'exist'. Optical Character Recognition (OCR) has evolved rapidly, which translates to any physical document being able to be saved digitally in, e.g., AWS S3 buckets. Primary document review should only happen once. There will be a point in time where all physical documents have been digitized, and true sharing of knowledge will begin.

How can you identify and remove irrelevant time series data?
I believe anybody doing time-series analysis should take a brute-force approach- that is, throw everything at the model and allow IT (the model) to tell you which features/time periods are irrelevant- in this case, "irrelevance" has a direct definition: not predictive. All data should be used all the time- especially if it's data a company collects internally about its own cashflow, sales, etc. Only when the model suggests- 1) the lack of predictive power, or 2) a shift in the model output distribution- should these rows/columns be removed

What are some effective strategies for communicating data analysis results?
You should not ever choose just one medium. The beauty of data is it can be represented in every medium, and all mediums should be employed to construct a comprehensive and understandable story. That is, create a table of your results, followed with graphs for features whose full story isn't described in a table format; write up your results- if you can't write your results in less than a page, then you don't understand the results well enough, or the analysis can be greatly simplified. Finally, using the data assets you've created, explain your findings to everybody. If people are confused, infuse their suggestions into your analysis. This is the only way to create a rock-solid and irrefutable analysis.
