The purpose of the Agile Dashboard is summarized in this WSJ article: "In 1988, former Intel CEO Andy Grove published a book called Only the Paranoid Survive, which highlighted the ways that companies have to be vigilant about what’s coming next, and be willing to disrupt themselves and pursue new technologies. What he intended as a warning to all companies has since become a prophecy foretelling Intel’s current difficulties. The book is literally about the importance of not missing strategic inflections, and then Intel proceeds to miss every single strategic inflection since, says O’Laughlin." #theagiledashboard

Open Source AI models are not new. A method to enable companies to create their own models, affordably, with cost/performance improved by an order of magnitude: That is new news. Our IBM Consulting team is helping clients build their purpose-specific AI foundation models, with their data, fully in their control, without breaking the bank. It was time we create AI that is actually Open. #neverstoplearning IBM

Intel welcomes "Open Platform for Enterprise AI": initiative unifies developer community for the advancement of generative AI systems. Today at Open Source Summit in Seattle, the Linux Foundation AI & Data announced the Open Platform for Enterprise AI (OPEA) as its latest Sandbox Project. OPEA aims to accelerate secure, cost-effective generative AI (GenAI) deployments for businesses by driving interoperability across a diverse and heterogeneous ecosystem, starting with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). Intel plans to: - Publish a technical conceptual framework. - Release reference implementations for GenAI pipelines on secure solutions based on Intel® Xeon® processors and Intel® Gaudi® AI accelerators. - Continue to add infrastructure capacity in the Intel® Tiber™ Developer Cloud for ecosystem development, AI acceleration, and validation of RAG and future pipelines. For more on OPEA check-out: https://opea.dev/ #OPEA #EnterpriseAI #IntelAI #AIeverywhere #OpenSource #Developers

IBM THINK is happening now in Boston…. Enterprise Customers are firmly supporting a number of key priories regarding AI. 1). TRUST is critical. Both the data used to train models and the governance used to ensure they act consistently in accordance with policies, intent and regulatory environments. 2) OPEN provides critical flexability to use the right model - for the right use-cases. 3) ECONOMICS matter - to go from pilot to production requires both a compelling aggregate business case and efficient inferencing unit-costs.

I agree. I have posted about this before, not only because HPC is The Server Labs speciality, but because HPC is now relevant across all industries. This is due to the explosion of data, the requirements for computational power that AI requires and the fact that we all now want real time insights ! HPC historically was for scientific institutions or industries that required massive compute power, but now HPC is a need for us all, if we want to remain competitive. Are you ready to leverage HPC for your organization’s future? 🚀 #HPC #Innovation #DigitalTransformation #CloudHPC #TheServerLabs

Amazon is simultaneously challenging OpenAI/Microsoft in foundation models, NVIDIA in chips, xAI in supercomputing, and securing powerful allies like Anthropic and Apple. 1. Foundation Model Domination - Six new Nova models that match or exceed competitors - 75% lower costs than current market leaders - Already powering 1,000 Amazon applications - 2025 roadmap includes groundbreaking speech-to-speech and "any-to-any" models - Supporting 200+ languages while others stay English-focused 2. The Chip Revolution - Trainium2 chips showing 4x performance gains - Slashing costs by 50% compared to Nvidia - Apple signed on as major customer - Deep collaboration with Annapurna Labs - Next-gen Trainium3 already in development 3. Project Rainier: The Super Computer - Building world's largest distributed AI compute cluster - Hundreds of thousands of Trainium chips working in unison - 5x more powerful than Anthropic's current systems - Multi-location design for unprecedented scale - Direct challenger to xAI's Colossus 4. The Anthropic Power Play - Massive $8B investment - Secured position as primary cloud provider - Exclusive access to future Claude models - Deep technical collaboration on chip optimization - Early access for AWS customers The most impressive part: Amazon's creating an entire ecosystem. They're simultaneously solving for compute (Project Rainier), chips (Trainium), models (Nova), and partnerships (Anthropic) - all while undercutting everyone's prices.

At AWS re:Invent 2024, Dr. Swami Sivasubramanian, VP of Data and AI at AWS, emphasized the convergence of data, analytics, and generative AI as a transformative force in technology. He highlighted how this integration enables more capable AI applications, allowing customers to achieve greater value more quickly. Dr. Sivasubramanian cited examples like Rocket Mortgage, which is building an AI-driven platform powered by Amazon Bedrock to create AI agents and automate tasks, and Canva, which uses AWS to handle 1.2 million requests daily, resulting in 450 new designs created every second. He also noted the human aspect of this convergence, with people across organizations collaborating in new ways, necessitating a deeper understanding of data and AI. #AWSreInvent #GenerativeAI #DataAnalytics #AIConvergence #TechInnovation APA Citation: Sivasubramanian, S. IBM has unveiled breakthrough research in optics technology that could dramatically improve how data centers train and run generative #AI models. Researchers have pioneered a new process for co-packaged optics (CPO), the next generation of optics technology, to enable connectivity within data centers at the speed of light through optics to complement existing short reach electrical wires. “As generative AI demands more energy and processing power, the data center must evolve – and co-packaged optics can make these data centers future-proof,” said Dario Gil, SVP and Director of Research at IBM. “With this breakthrough, tomorrow’s chips will communicate much like how fiber optics cables carry data in and out of #datacenters, ushering in a new era of faster, more #sustainable communications that can handle the #AI workloads of the future.” Great things coming...
