I have used AGILE methodology for 20+ years. Scrum is the basis for success. Here is a beginning list in my world. Simple, but effective. Indexing: Identify the columns frequently used in WHERE clauses, JOIN conditions, and ORDER BY clauses, and create appropriate indexes. Be cautious not to over-index, as it can impact write performance. Query Optimization: Use the database's query optimization tools and features. Most modern databases have query planners that analyze and optimize queries automatically. Rewrite complex queries to simplify them or break them into smaller, more manageable parts. Database Sharding: If your dataset is substantial, consider database sharding, which involves splitting the database into smaller, more manageable pieces (shards) based on certain criteria.
