With increasing field strength there is a deminishing return, while also creating drastic increases in challenges and artifacts. I beielve that 7T has pushed beyond the interection of these 2 curves (benefits and complications). I believe this is evident that after 20 years 7T is still challenging for all scanning and has never been FDA cleared for any body imaging. Yet, in less that 18 months from the first scans, the new United Imaging Jupiter 5T is easily scanning body, cardiac, neuro and MSK. I believe United Imaging has found “Sweet Spot” for Ultra High Field Imaging. All at a fraction of the cost of 7T and designed to retrofit into most existing 3T MRI rooms. 5T is overcoming the challenges of scanning, cost, and siting inherent with 7T and is a great step towards making Ultra High field imaging acccessable to more patients. #PassionForChange
