Dubai Marina is Led a team of planners and designers to provide overall project master planning and detailed site design services for Phase 1. Our client, EMAAR, did not own the shoreline land parcels directly adjacent to the Persian Gulf, so our proposal included digging a large canal to provide waterfront access for residents. There large central waterway was excavated from the desert and runs the length of the site, which is 2 miles / 3 kilometers. Our master plan concept included public gathering spaces, plazas and 5 miles / 8 kilometers of landscaped promenade or public walkways. This signature open space features an event lawn, amphitheater, sculpture, a beer garden, rental hall, fountain, plaza, a tree canopy trail and recreational river access. From an economic development perspective, this investment by the City has created a regional destination and has attracted a significant amount of private real estate development nearby.
