A Board of Directors is a requirement for a homeowners association to function properly. As elected volunteer officials, the Board of Directors are responsible for all operations of the Triana Homeowners Association and ensuring the community governing documents are followed and enforced. The board is elected from and by the homeowners of the community at the annual meeting.

The purpose of architectural design review is to keep the community attractive for the enjoyment of residents and the protection of property and property values. The CCR authorizes the Architectural Control Committee to establish rules, standards and procedures for the orderly development of the subdivision and requires homeowners to obtain written approval from the ACC for any buildings, additions or other exterior improvements to their property. This is to ensure that the improvements comply with the provisions of the declaration and the ACC guidelines. The ACC and Board of Directors have established these guidelines in accordance with the authority granted to them by the provisions of the declaration.

During his short time as Chair of the Triana HOA ACC, Matthew created and helped implement new ACC guidelines for the community, which in and of its self was a huge accomplishment as the HOA came under full homeowner control in July of 2020.

I was elected by Triana Homeowners to the newly created five member Triana Homeowners Association Advisory Board in May of 2015. The role of this advisory board is to transition HOA control from the developer to homeowners as build-out nears completion. The Advisory Board itself will transition into the HOA Board once Triana is fully turned over to the homeowners.

During his term as Vice-Chair, Matthew worked to push forward many new initiatives including the 2013 GBTA RFP Format, which became a Hotel Industry Standard, and the committee began work on an additional RFP Format to support another segment of travel industry. Matthew’s last few months on the committee were spent interviewing candidates to fill seats opening up and ensuring he left the committee fully staffed and diversified in expertise.

Matthew is proud of all the work the GBTA Hotel Committee delivered over his two years as Vice-Chair and a total of four years on the Hotel Committee. The GBTA Hotel Committee continues to be the standard by which other committees are measured.

At the heart of Radisson Hotel Group is our brand promise: Every Moment Matters. It’s more than our signature; it’s simply how we do business and who we are at the core. This spirit starts from the inside, with our talent, who show up, live our beliefs, and move our business forward through their daily efforts.

This year, we set out to recognize 14 employees aligned to our seven cultural beliefs – one from Corporate and one from our Managed Hotels. Due to receiving more than 200 nominations from employees nominating peers, direct reports, managers, and cross-functional partners, we decided to highlight 21 of our distinguished colleagues as winners of the Every Moment Matters Awards.

"Matt starts and ends every day with a positive spirit. He offers valuable perspective and feedback and always has a Yes, I Can attitude. He is respected within the company, by leaders, peers and other departments. Additionally, he is well respected by customers and industry partners. This year Matt stepped forward to help the TMC team during its transition period and represented RHG at some of their scheduled trade shows and events, such as AMEX and Travel & Transport. He has also demonstrated great collaboration with the Operations team in support of developing strategies to drive revenue into our focus hotels with Deep Dive Hotelligence and action planning reviews and represented sales at two of our regional meetings in Texas. He has delivered numerous reviews to our hotels this year alone. Matt is a great leader who has supported his team in exceeding their goal (as of September 2018 has achieved 102% of Americas revenue goal / 107% of overall revenue goal)".
