Another very cool podcast on Inversion, this time on The Orbital Mechanics podcast. I have been listening to The Orbital Mechanics since college, so it is pretty so fun to hear the work I am doing being discussed on the show! There’s also a great elevator pitch for Inversion that should help answer the questions people often ask, including: “What does Inversion do?” “Who is the customer base?” “How is that possible?” Minute 21:53 is where Inversion comes on. Some of my personal favorite moments are: 38:00, when the Recovery Team is discussed. 43:40, when Justin talks about recovery operations. 48:10 when Justin recounts a drop test that didn’t exactly go as planned… Enjoy!

(On my hobby "thermal history" horse again) So you have heard me argue ad nauseum, "Everything in metal additive is connected to the thermal history" Here is another notch on the proverbial barrel (or crack in the record), this time with wire-arc directed energy deposition. https://lnkd.in/ez2BHKkZ In the above work, Nick Piercy, Dr. Kevin Cole from University of Nebraska-Lincoln; and Dr. Surya Kumar; Vishnu A S, Janmejay Kulkarni from Indian Institute of Technology (Hyderabad) developed, verified, and validated a meshless, graph theory-based approach for thermal modeling of the wire-arc additive manufacturing (WAAM/WA-DED) process. Computation speed 2x compared to commercial FE-based welding package and error < 5%. Next step, as Jedi Master Yoda definitively is reputed to have said, "Control, control! You must learn control (of the thermal history in AM)". PS: My mother will be infinitely happy to know that my name is now associated on the same line, albeit tendentiously, with an IIT.
