NEW WORK INBOUND 🚨 A social first design identity! The team at WhisperBakes were in a very similar situation to many business owners I work with - great products, a lively and driven team, an established process that could scale, but struggled to wrestle with a lacklustre identity that didn't portray any of these amazing traits. It was becoming cumbersome and confusing to work with - completely holding them back! They wanted to start making the most of a generous following and customer base across various digital platforms so decided we would develop an approach that was digital-first, scaleable and as fast-acting and responsive to digital trends as possible. I developed a digital "sticker-type toolkit" that could scale - responding to online trends and adapting to their ever-changing product list. The solution was in speeding up their time-consuming social media content strategy and crafting a clear and recognisable aesthetic that has allowed them to spend less time in front of a screen and more time focussing on quality products and customer satisfaction and engagement. This Ad Age story really got my wheels turning. X&O, a creative consultancy, uses a network of “mystery creatives” - think freelance CMOs, creative leads and brand strategists - all work on projects for such companies as Minute Maid, Alibaba, etc... But X&O doesn’t name names - instead they generalize credentials when pitching campaigns or responding to briefs, which in a way, is fueling the ever growing freelance/creator economy. So cool to see how traditional ad shops are rethinking their approach to bring more innovative thinking into the mix. Creativity in the workplace is amazing when it's a team sport – and now more than ever – it's not just about collaborating and crowdsourcing, but it’s also about scaling and pressure-testing. I don’t know if X&O’s anonymous creatives are also using AI - but makes you think. Could AI play a role in taking things up a notch here? Definitely something I think we’re going to see more of in our worlds, but curious to hear your thoughts…

🚨 New Key Art for A.I.L.A 🚨 The best horror artwork sends the mind’s eye into overdrive. I think of creative for classics like Poltergeist and The Howling as well as more recent fright fests such as Longlegs and When Evil Lurks. They all say a lot while showing very little. They force the imagination into unsettling places but give nothing away in terms of story or any big reveals, leaving the viewer with a voracious appetite to watch the film or play the game to unravel more. This approach was firmly in our minds when Supernaut Studio was asked to create the key art for A.I.L.A, the new psychological horror game from Fireshine Games and developed by Pulsatrix Studios as part of their gamescom announcement campaign. A.I.L.A tells the story of a VR gaming console containing A.I. technology that produces horror simulations based on your fears, blurring lines of reality. Our goal was to convey the psy-tech (psychological / technological) horror experience the game delivers: The mind altering terror brought about by a technology where darker forces are at play. A massive thanks to the excellent D. Useless webinars are everywhere 😪 BUT last night's from Goodtype ft Phoebe Cornog on Cold Outreach for Creatives? *chef's kiss* The main takeaway: As a creative business owner, you need to be doing outreach 📩 Guess how many emails Phoebe recommends sending EVERY week?? 5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ 500 > to get ~10 leads > 6 conversations > 1 proposal 😮‍💨 But if running your own creative business was easy, everyone would do it 🤷‍♀️ (plus, these numbers will look different for everybody) So as Pheobe reiterated, don't let outreach get you down, and don't overthink it.
