The Commission approves, conditionally approves, or disapproves applications for Conditional Use Permits which do not meet the criteria for consideration by the Housing & Community Development Director. The Planning Commission also makes recommendations regarding approval or disapproval of Subdivision Maps, Planned Unit Development Permits, Annexations, Development Agreements, Rezoning and Land-Use, and Zoning…

    The Planning Commission promotes and ensures the comprehensive planning of the City. The Commission approves, conditionally approves, or disapproves applications for Conditional Use Permits which do not meet the criteria for consideration by the Housing & Community Development Director. The Planning Commission also makes recommendations regarding approval or disapproval of Subdivision Maps, Planned Unit Development Permits, Annexations, Development Agreements, Rezoning and Land-Use, and Zoning Plans. During my appointment I focused on limiting off sale liquor license approvals, strengthening our Inclusionary Housing Ordinance, and ensuring that Community Benefits Agreements would be included in the City's Economic Development Element.

    Since 1979, NPH has been the collective voice of those who support, build and finance affordable housing. NPH promotes the proven methods of the non-profit sector and focuses government policy on housing solutions for low-income people who suffer disproportionate from the housing crisis. We do not build nor develop affordable housing; we support our members to build, develop, and preserve affordable housing.

    Our 700+ members include the full spectrum of housing practitioners, including non-profit housing developers of all scopes and sizes, for-profit developers, housing advocates, local governments, financial institutions and environmental and faith-based groups.

    During my tenure I focused on helping NPH become a leader in Diversity Equity and Inclusion programming by launching the Bay Area Housing Internship Program and engaged directly in regional and statewide policy advocacy to increase the supply of affordable housing.

    Currently serve on the NPH Action Fund Board which focuses on creating new funding sources for affordable housing by supporting elected officials and voter initiatives.

Members are primarily community-based nonprofit and public developers, including the largest self-help housing producers in the United States, as well as local government officials, and local activists concerned about rural quality of life.
