How can you use collaborative decision-making to drive change?
Consider not deciding as an option, at least temporarily. Make a tentative decision or narrow your choices down to 2-3 winning options and go test them with key stakeholders. Create visual, low resolution prototypes that represent the core value of each option and gain reaction from those stakeholders. This is, of course, not for every decision, but if you can test your decisions or options before making a commitment your decisions can be more robust. This also critically allows you to gain support for and buy in for your decisions. If people are part of your design they are more likely to support, or at least not resist the change it may impose on them.

What are your best tips for supporting and empowering team members during and after a change?
These are all very important components of driving change. We all know that change can be uncomfortable, even threatening to humans. It's in our DNA. The key to successful Big Change is ensuring that you're designing that change in a purposeful way, and involving those who will be impacted in the process. The leader's responsibility is then to ensure that people feel heard and to be open to adjusting the change strategy. Generally, people will adapt to changes if they understand why it needs to happen, even if they don't like what the change means to them. But, as was pointed out above, if they are involved in shaping the change journey, they're much more likely to both understand and embrace the change.

My coaching varies depending on each speaker's needs and prior experience, but focuses on content, flow, and the use of compelling visuals to support the talk.
