This move comes after a "suboptimal" cloud migration that started in 2013, which resulted in a 2.5x increase in costs and decreased availability ("Bills went up 2.5x"). A few weeks ago, I was given a stretch project to update an existing Case Audit process that hadn't been used since last summer. The existing flow wasn't working the way it was intended, and the leaders wanted to expand the scope (setting audit percentages for both user and record type). The first time I looked at the flow I understood about 50% of what it was doing. There were variables and formulas that meant absolutely nothing to me. The scope of the project was overwhelming and I was certain it was above my skill level. I met with the person who wrote the first flow and talked through some ideas for how to approach a new version, which gave me the confidence to start planning. And googling. And going through a bunch of existing flows in our org to see how different elements are used in conjunction with each other. And googling some more. Today I understand 100% of that first flow. But even better, I've now written three new flows that touch different pieces of the process and have learned how to use loops and subflows - neither of which I'd really interacted with before. Yesterday I finally got my first completely successful test run in a sandbox and it was SUCH a proud moment! I can't wait to show off this thing I've built - by far, the biggest challenge I've had yet in this role. While the project might have been above my skill level on the day it was assigned to me, it isn't anymore. Having a job that allows me to constantly grow my skills and solve problems for the business is incredibly fulfilling and satisfying. #awesomeadmins #salesforce
