In addition, through its Garden of Dreams Giving program, the Foundation helps its partner organizations through the direct support of scholarships and long-lasting community projects such as the refurbishment of pediatric areas at local hospitals, basketball courts and community centers – with plans for many more vital civic enhancements in the years to come.

The American Society for Yad Vashem (ASYV) was established in 1981 by a group of Holocaust survivors to support the crucial efforts of Yad Vashem, the premier Holocaust remembrance center in Jerusalem. Since its establishment, ASYV has grown from a handful of dedicated members to over 65,000 passionate individuals throughout the country. ASYV advances the mission of Holocaust education and remembrance by hosting social and educational events throughout the United States. Through seminars and conferences, ASYV trains educators and professionals to promulgate the educational curriculum of Yad Vashem in the classroom. ASYV initiatives include the Young Leadership Associates, a growing group of enthusiastic members of the third generation that has undertaken the task of developing programs to promote Holocaust education and awareness among their peers. With the support of our donors, ASYV is able to strengthen the efforts of Yad Vashem as together we remember the past and shape the future.

Since its founding sixty-four years ago, Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center, on the Mount of Remembrance in Jerusalem, has become synonymous with Holocaust remembrance throughout the world. It serves as the voice of the Jewish people and the conscience of humanity in the vital endeavor to transmit the history and the significance of the Holocaust to future generations.

Yad Vashem’s landmark Museum, designed by world renowned architect Moshe Safdie, the International School for Holocaust, the Archives, and Research Institute provide the Jewish people and the entire world with essential information and terms of reference for gaining knowledge and insight regarding the cataclysmic events of the period.
