Cigna (CI) - reported Q2 2024 results last week. Here are 11 key stats and financial metrics (don't miss these): 1/ Medicare Advantage Members -Flat at 592,000 - year-over-year 2/ Medicare Supplement & Other Members -Increased from 465,000 to 473,000 - year-over-year -Up 2% -Cigna reports Medicare Supplement as Other. Based on NAIC numbers, the majority of this is Medicare Supplement 3/ Total Revenues -Grew from $48.6 billion to $60.5 billion - year-over-year -up 25% Note: the majority of their revenues comes from their Evernorth Health Segment 4/ Total Operating Profit -Grew from $2.22 billion to $2.41 billion - year-over-year -up 12% 5/ Healthcare Segment Revenues -Grew from $12.76 billion to $13.29 billion - year-over-year -Up 9% 6/ Healthcare Segment Loss Ratio -increased from 81.2% to 82.3% - year-over-year (loss ratio = medical costs / premium revenue) 7/ Healthcare Segment Expenses -decreased from 21.0% to 19.9% of revenue - year-over-year -includes Selling, general and administrative expenses 8/ Healthcare Segment Operating Profit -Grew from $1.13 billion to $1.25 billion - year-over-year -up 11% -Profit margin of 9.5% compared to 8.9% last year 9/ Evernorth Health Segment Revenues -Grew from $38.2 billion to $49.5 billion - year-over-year -up 30% 10/ Evernorth Health Segment Operating Profit -Grew from $1.23 billion to $1.30 billion - year-over-year -up 15% 11/ Valuation Metrics -Market Cap: $94.3 B -Price / Earnings Ratio: 26.6 ___ If you are a leader in the Medicare space give me a follow. https://lnkd.in/eSjxwntx Demotech has tried to help stabilize the Property Insurance market in Florida, but Legislators are just not interested in the facts so here they are. 20% of all new carriers will go defunct and all of them do not have the capital needed to hold on to A ratings, but because Florida Has Citizens Insurance as a backstop, they are able to still do business. Many carriers are still in trouble, but until the time comes, it is let go and Citizens or another carrier takes over. Litigation, Reinsurance & Roofs are the 3 main issues we still have. Litigation is more manageable & reinsurance rates have also stabilized so now it is just the roof problem we still have replacing old roofs???? Florida, the damage would have been so much worse. S. Florida has dodged storms for many years now so we shou;d all realize that our turn is coming back again soon, we just do not know when & which part of S. Florida. That type of storm will definitely affect Florida Property Premiums, but this storm did not do much except for those affected.
