“Misalignment in company culture is the #1 reason for turnover” is something Emily Landon has made clear to me since the first day I started at The Crypto Recruiters. What does that really mean though?!?! Let’s divide a candidate in to two parts for simple experimentation. 1/2 of the candidate is the skills, qualifications, and experiences that make them suitable for the role. The other 1/2 is all the human, soft skills, personality traits, emotional responses, and quirks that come with being a person. No matter how PERFECT a resume lines up or how FUN an interview is - you have to be able to weigh all parts equally. Hiring is a perfect example of a place you really should use the advice “just be yourself and everything will be okay”. In doing so, you will always end up exactly where you are meant to be. The hard skills speak for themselves. Let your human qualities shine through a bit to ensure you are where you are supposed to be. Culture has nothing to do with what languages you know how to code in or how much revenue growth you achieved in your last role. Be you!
