GREAT piece by Wilson Sonsini on recent questions about DE's status as the preferred corporate domicile. Wish I could make it mandatory for my Corporations students, but they're about to take my thrilling final. Like or dislike Elon's recent $56B dunking, the decision tied together several edge concepts for my students, including the controlling shareholder wildcard, how entire-fairness review makes Chancery fairness-decider-in-chief, and the importance of fervent over-disclosure to innoculate potentially controversial transactions, like the biggest payout ever, from meddlesome second-guessing. As part of our Responsible Innovation efforts which help us understand the implications of our technologies before we ship them, Adobe commissioned a global “Future of Trust” study to examine the impact of generative AI on society and ahead of global 2024 elections. The study published today and revealed, among other findings, that a significant number of consumers (70% U.S., 76% U.K., 73% France, 70% Germany) believe it’s becoming difficult to verify whether the content they are consuming online is trustworthy. Without widespread tools to help consumers decide whether the online content they are consuming is true, many believe (78% U.S., 83% U.K., 78% France, 72% Germany) that election candidates should be prohibited from using generative AI in their promotional content. AI has the power to transform creativity and productivity, but it’s clear there’s an urgent need for protective measures to address misinformation. It’s a critical time to educate consumers about the dangers of deepfakes and provide them with tools like Content Credentials to help them understand what is true and restore trust in the digital content they are consuming. #FutureofTrust #ContentCredentials #generativeAI
