Understanding "Closed Data" Distances with Foresight Launch Monitors When golfers talk about distance, they're usually referring to their pure carry distance—the distance the ball travels without influences like wind or slope. Foresight's launch monitors leverage "Closed Data" to provide precisely that: real, repeatable data that eliminates external factors like wind or elevation. However, it doesn’t overlook real air conditions, using an integrated barometer to measure them. In real game scenarios, you assess conditions—wind, slope, etc.—to make club decisions. But with Foresight's "Closed Data" approach, you get a reliable baseline, unaffected by external variables, so you know exactly what your shot capability is. When you want to truly know your distance, "Closed Data" gives you confidence, grounded in actual performance.

Plyometrics your athletes must incoperate into their program year round. Remember keep reps & rest high if you want to improve speed unless extensive (I forgot to mention Yielding Plyos) Plyos will improve ➡️ Stretch shortening cycle efficiency. Improving speed and efficiency of energy from the eccentric - concentric stretch of tendon & muscles. Also improves the speed of the amortisation phase. (Want to be sub 0.3 seconds so our GTO doesn’t activate. Will also improve our stretch reflex which is our body ability to sense a eccentric stretch and sends a signal to the agonist muscle to rapidly contract. ➡️ Pre-activation & Landing anticipation. Plyos improve the bodys ability to pre-tension our connective tissue before landing in order to improve ground reaction forces & avoid hip drops. Moving from dorsiflexion mid airborne to active plantar flexion is key. Bringing on tension in a flexed-extended position as you uncoil your leg primes the tissue to prepare for stiff landings. Will also keep you strike the ground under the hip rather then infront. ➡️ Landing/Leg stiffness. Similar to pre-tension but if you lack ankle strength (ability to keep rigid among ground contact), then your ankle/heel is going to collapse resulting in a reduction of energy being absorbed and redirected into the ground. Plyos & ISO are great ➡️Technique Obviously practicing the movement with good technique is going to enhance your ability to jump, land etc. Your body will be able to self organise to find the optimal way to express force (Within safe biomechanics) ➡️Improves rate of coding Increase the frequency at which neural impulses are transmitted to recruited motor units. Higher frequency impulse means strong muscular contractions, aswell as increasing the speed at which we can generate muscular force ➡️ Rapid Contact & relax techniques. Plyometrics reduce co-contractions from the antagonist muscle which allows the agonist muscle to produce more force faster. Improving your ability to quickly turn your muscles on & off will be huge for your development. ➡️ Reduction in Golgi Tendon Organ (GTO ) inhibition. GTO is located in the tendon which manages muscle tension to protect the tendon. Plyos decrease the inhibition due to exposure to high intensity movements which allows a greater stretch of the muscle. Paired with elastic stored energy = dynamic movement ➡️ Ground impulse & propulsion Impulse (Ground force x time). A lot of factors play a role in this but plyos are great to decrease ground contact times & increase ➡️ Improves eccentric & dynamic strength, makes our muscle lock up isometrically allowing our tendon to stretch and produce more elastic energy. ➡️ Active muscle stiffness, allowing greater tendon elongation (Length our tendons stretch and contract). Without active muscle stiffness the stretch isn’t going to be as big Reductions in injuries, due to improvements in neuromuscular control. Particularly important to prevent injury #football #gym
