“My entire Marketing and Communications career started with Ed giving me an opportunity to join his team as a copywriter back in 2012. And over the course of 10 years at SHI’s in-house agency, Ed mentored me to become a better storyteller, challenged me to use my knowledge and grow a team of in-house copywriters, and supported me as I made the difficult decision to leave his department and move across the country for something new. Ed understands the complexities of maintaining a brand voice, he knows how to connect with the customer to deliver the right message, and, most importantly, he knows how to work a room (mic drop!). Ed’s leadership and guidance helped me learn how to write creatively for a global audience, how to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and how to make smarter business decisions, and because of this, I’ve been fortunate enough to have a career path that I never thought would be possible 12+ years ago. Having Ed as a mentor (and a friend) has given me the confidence to step outside my comfort zone and take on new challenges, personally and professionally. I’ll always be grateful to Ed for giving me a chance back in 2012, and I’ll always keep pushing myself to be as great of a mentor as he was to me.”
