What do you do if your Creative Strategy career is being impacted by emerging technologies and trends?
Sugar vs Salt. There are two ways to move through the world when things don't go your way. Sugar is about looking at the bright side. Taking feedback as a gift, using set-backs as set-ups, and being thankful for the opportunities and experiences. Salt is about letting your emotions get in the way of your progress, many times burning bridges. It's about solely looking through the lens of the short term, instead of the big picture. And it's about revenge over redemption. Every decision is an opportunity to step one step closer to your destination - so think wisely.

What do you do if your Creative Strategy career is being impacted by emerging technologies and trends?
Years ago when I was starting my career I heard the term "Your network is your net worth." That was years before @Linkedin and Social Media. And it meant hustling around to meet with people in person and show up in the right rooms. Today we have it easy, we can simply look-up, understand the POV and direct message almost an executive in business. There is simply no better platform or place to network today. It's a tool that can change your career, your experience, and your opportunities. And the best part - a little effort everyday can add up to be a lot in the long term!

What do you do if your Creative Strategy career is being impacted by emerging technologies and trends?
Change is really another word for evolution. In both your career, and personal life, you need to be aware that you if you don't voluntarily change - or evolve - the environment around you ultimately will, and bring you along with it. I think the best way to embrace this is through the lens of strategic pivoting. Take the time to look both down the street and around the corner - to get a sense of where your career and the world is heading. Embracing this way of thinking is an opportunity to stay ahead of your career and your life.

Understanding organizational context as concave (advantages) or convex (disadvantages) surfaces is a helpful visual for adaptability & growth. 🌟 Leaders and boards must see and act on: 1️⃣ Concave opportunities to accelerate 2️⃣ Convex challenges to manage with systems/capabilities/resources 3️⃣ Convex challenges that can be flipped to concave opportunities In concave contexts, outcomes naturally optimize. Leaders should "grease the surface" for repeatability and scale - without screwing things up 😉 In convex contexts, energy funnels away from goals, requiring effort to achieve and maintain optimal outcomes. Leaders should build systems and resources that push toward desired results, and explore choices that could flip disadvantage to advantage. 💡 and remember that context changes rapidly IE a concave advantage can just as easily flip to a convex disadvantage.
