𝐇𝐎𝐓 𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐄: 95% 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐎𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐂𝐑𝐎) 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 (𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲!) Building a solid DTC channel can be challenging. One of the biggest constraints on scale is your website's conversion rate (CR), which is one of the variables determining your Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC). You need to run A/B tests on your site to improve the CR. If you're under $5M/yr, I recommend learning (yes, youtube.com) to continuously test these 5 elements on your website. 1) 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 Try different copy on both, focusing on benefits rather than features and making the customer the hero, not the brand. 2) 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐭 Test different photos/pictures. Make sure it looks GREAT on mobile. You can try many concepts, but always show your products (or at least your hero product); make sure it looks fantastic, making you say "I want to have that!" 3) 𝐒𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 For some reason, very few people work on this one, but its impact on your site is huge. A good menu will increase your CR and AOV meaningfully. Pay attention to mobile because 80% of your traffic comes from mobile devices. 4) 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐲 𝐛𝐨𝐱 (that's on the product page where the add-to-cart button is) You can run several tests here: from image thumbnails vs. navigation dots and displaying ratings here or there to adding icons below the add-to-cart button to reduce perceived risk to buying. 5) 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 Test changing the order or removing some sections on your homepage or the landing page where you run your traffic. You read it right, sometimes more sections (information) might lead to lower CR. 6) 𝐑𝐮𝐧 𝐀/𝐁 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 Of course, you can increase your conversion rate by lowering prices; the question is: Will that gain compensate for lower gross profits? Another important question: If people are willing to buy at a higher price without a drop in CR, will these customers buy again at the same rate as before? Agree or disagree with me on this one?

If your DTC strategy didn’t include Prime Day marketing, you missed out on a piece of what's likely to be a $14B pie. Amazon Prime Day 2024 is expected to generate $14 billion in sales – a 10.5% increase from last year.  For direct-to-consumer (DTC) manufacturers, this event represents a golden opportunity that many may have overlooked. Prime Day offers increased visibility to millions of engaged shoppers, potential for significant sales boosts, and valuable consumer behavior insights. I personally bought two things this year from manufacturers doing it right:  An eufy X10 Pro Omni Robot Mop and Vacuum and a Cricut Maker 3.  I researched both on Amazon and bought both directly from the manufacturers.  Both are capitalizing on Prime Day.  Here’s why I bought direct: 1️⃣ Eufy pricing was the same both on Amazon and direct.  Both sites had it for $599 discounted from $799.  However, Eufy is running 10% cash back via Rakuten.  That made it $59.90 less expensive than Amazon. 2️⃣ Cricut machines were selling slightly differently on their site vs. Amazon.  They offered a Maker 3 bundle for $389 from a 3rd party seller.  Cricut’s own bundle on Amazon was $349 and only included a digital bundle.  I hardly need the clipart, so that seemed like a waste.  The direct price was $399, came with more accessories, and a month of their digital content service which also includes 10% off accessories.  Couple that with a Honey offer of $25 off the best bundle on Amazon, got a lot more value, and saved $15.  I also have a few codes for being a new list subscriber. DTC brands that didn't participate missed out on peak consumer spending, reduced brand exposure, and learning opportunities for future events. Using Amazon’s scale to drive visibility is an important strategy.  Manufacturers also risked falling behind competitors.  To capitalize on future Prime Days, DTC manufacturers should consider: ➡ Creating their own branded "Prime Day" events ➡ Leveraging multiple channels – including Amazon’s advertising – to lower CPAs ➡ Offering compelling and “hidden”, such as via Honey and Rakuten along with joining their own “insiders lists” incentives ➡ Bookending Prime Day with their own sales Sitting out major events like Prime Day is simply bad strategy for manufacturers who are serious about a successful DTC program. Not only is it an opportunity to boost sales before Q4 and clear out inventory, it is a learning environment to hone strategies for Black Friday and acquire new brand fans and customers.  #DTC #Retail #B2C #B2B #marketingstrategy

You've built your business on "rented" traffic! Let me explain... You start a business. ✅ To get some leads right now you invest in a PPC campaign. ✅ It's profitable so you put in some more. ✅ Your CPA is positive so you decide to scale it.
