Darryl Simon

Served on the Board of Directors and its Education & Interpretation Committee with responsibility for governance and strategic planning of an historic site operated by the National Trust for Historic Preservation as a National Historic Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

As a member of the Hopkins Carey Black Alumni Network, Darryl currently serves as a graduate student mentor for underrepresented diverse students and recent graduates.

Darryl provided career coaching and development consultation to the U.S. based African foreign national alumni network of the African Leadership Academy, a Johannesburg, South Africa based educational institution whose mission is to develop the next generation of ethical African leaders pursuing careers in business, government, non-profits and entrepreneurship.

Darryl served as a social entrepreneurial proposal advisor for the Resolution Project, a New York, NY based international youth leadership development non-profit organization that evaluates the feasibility and sustainability of business proposals for early funding of emerging global social entrepreneurial ventures.

Darryl served on the Board of Trustees of the Chesapeake Shakespeare Company, a Baltimore Maryland based classical theater organization in supporting its $5 million capital campaign that acquired and renovated downtown Baltimore's original Mercantile Safe Deposit and Trust Company building as its new theater home. Built in 1885, the building is listed on the National Register of Historic Landmarks and the renovation was part of Baltimore's downtown revitalization effort.

Darryl served as an advisor to the Board of Directors of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources, a 15,000 member, 25 chapter professional association in its effort to improve board governance, strategic planning, member retention and engagement and organizational effectiveness in providing networking, career opportunities, educational and professional development, mentoring, coaching and resources to its members and chapters; also conducted and presented research on… Show more

Darryl served as an advisor to the Board of Directors of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources, a 15,000 member, 25 chapter professional association in its effort to improve board governance, strategic planning, member retention and engagement and organizational effectiveness in providing networking, career opportunities, educational and professional development, mentoring, coaching and resources to its members and chapters; also conducted and presented research on development strategies for advancing and avoiding derailment of black executives and other leaders of color. Darryl served with Leadership Howard County, Maryland, a non-profit community leadership development organization in a variety of roles, including as a youth mentor for national honor society high school juniors undertaking community service projects; as a member of the coaching subcommittee for the Leadership Essentials Development Program for mid-career professionals; and as a program moderator and panelist for senior leaders completing the organization's premiere community leadership… Show more

Darryl served as Co-Chair of the Career Development Committee for the National Association of Health Services Executives, a professional association of black healthcare executives in developing a career mentoring program for early and mid career healthcare leaders; also developed research presentations and served as member of a senior executive forum on developing strategies for advancing careers and avoiding derailment of senior black healthcare leaders.

Darryl served on the Board of Directors and as Co-Chair, Career Resources Committee of the Chesapeake Bay Organization Development Network, the mid-Atlantic regional affiliate of the International Organization Development Network, the premier professional association of organizational development practitioners in providing governance, improving member retention and engagement and the development of professional development, education and mentoring programs for its members.
