How can you use personal branding to create a sense of prestige and exclusivity?
The importance of social proof is the following: other people are saying it, not you. Consumers trust the influencers they follow and by getting that third party validation, you receive a halo effect of that trust. Social proof is simply that -- proof that you are who you say you are, or have a product that does what you say it does. It's a warm introduction into a community of opportunity.

How can you negotiate influencer content compensation and rights?
Influencers are no longer just a top of funnel, brand awareness play. Creators can play a role all throughout the funnel, including sales. The key is measurement. Are you expecting brand lift, web traffic, engagement or sales? There are ways to track all of this and many influencer platforms offer robust reporting to show the contribution of your various partners. Working on a platform is also helpful in discovering new creators. You can recruit your partners into campaigns, contract for longer-term relationships, share expectations, measure, optimize and pay out. Spreadsheets and cold outreach won't get you to an ROI, so leverage one of these platforms so you can focus on strategy.

How can you negotiate influencer content compensation and rights?
There is a lot of information sharing during the campaign building process, so why would you want to start over with a new creator every time? Also, we know consumers need to see the same message multiple times before they will convert so cutting it to just one post may be a waste of your budget. Brands can gain credibility by continuing a longer-term partnership with their existing partners. On the influencer side, repeated brand campaigns help build trust with their audience. If a creator is promoting 10 different brands/products a week, their audience will eventually come to the conclusion that the creator is just taking money to promote anything that comes their way. Authenticity is key and long term partnerships facilitate that.

How can you negotiate influencer content compensation and rights?
Understanding your audience is critical for both brands and creators in the world of influencer marketing. Both parties must truly know who their audience is, including what products and what price points they will engage with. When talking compensation with your creator partners, clarity and expectations are key. Are you expecting top of funnel brand awareness campaigns or actual sales? If sales, why not add offer a flat rate with a performance bonus - where they use affiliate links to drive their audience to purchase? The creator continues to make passive income from their content and the brand is more comfortable knowing there will be an ROI. Both brands and creators are leaning into this model, so don't get left behind!
