Samaritans accomplishes this through services that emphasize confidential, non-judgmental, and compassionate listening.
Samaritans’ HelpLine volunteers, staff, and Board of Directors implement and steer the mission. A collection of professionals with talent, time, and relationships in the fields of law, marketing, brand building, advocacy and finance can augment this work. This is the role of the Samaritan’s Council.
The topic of suicide is delicate and emotionally difficult to engage, yet touches an enormous number of people. The Council provides insights and resources that Samaritans needs, offering them with a particular kind of care, compassion, and generosity of spirit that are distinctive among volunteer organizations.
Council members support Samaritans’ fundraising efforts, help to raise the visibility of Samaritans by introducing others to the organization and are available as a resource to senior management. -

To this end, we strive to present an effective voice in town affairs reflective of the concerns and best interests of both our membership and our community. -
