I find that sharing a similar experience or talking about a situation that occurred with a client in the same industry helps to open up the conversation and also conveys that your experience in working with companies like theirs. for example: I have a client who had a similar experience and this is what they did. How have you been able to overcome that challenge?

How can you improve your active listening skills in business meetings?
It is critical to prepare for the meeting by understanding the agenda and making a list of questions and feedback. Too many participants show up physically but "wing it". You can truly stand out by spending some time beforehand preparing. The preparation also builds your confidence during the meeting. No meeting is too small to prepare in fact, preparing for the small meetings is great practice for the important ones.

This headline being technically accurate, the FRB does not expect to achieve the target anytime soon. They acknowledged the effort needed for banks to transform their delivery systems both automated and people to support this payment system that is just not instant but also never closes. Insiders know that banks face significant headwinds partly from pandemic induced shutdowns & global supply chain upheavals, to self inflicted regulatory scrutiny created by bank failures and discoveries of unsafe and unsound business practices among mid to large cap banks. These headwinds manifest in shrinking revenue and missed profitability goals. Consequently, executives choose to remedy balance sheet ailments by resorting to the traditional playbook tactic; cut costs. Cuts to capital improvement and workforce expense budgets are done and this cements the fate of the bank's ability to recover from the headwinds in any short timeframe. Transforming a business operation from banker's hours to never closed is expensive and time consuming. Hopefully, FRB executives did not bet on "build it and they come" ROI expectations. #banks #FRB #FedNow #instantpayments
