    The Hutchinson House, built circa 1885, was listed on the National Register in 1987. It is one of the oldest houses on Edisto Island identified with the African American community after the Civil War. It was Henry Hutchinson’s wedding gift to his new bride, Rosa Swinton Hutchinson. Henry and Rosa are my great-great-great-grandparents.
