Football has the power to positively impact the lives of children, especially those in underserved communities. Our groundbreaking research with the University of Houston showed that ball mastery, a key skill in football, teaches young children how to focus their attention - a skill that sets them up for success in learning. It's time for football governing bodies to understand how the sport can help develop healthier and more educated kids. In New York City alone, 50% of K-12 kids fail in reading and 70% fail in math. Our research in Houston actually improved test scores for kids in literacy and numeracy. Let's promote a sport that can truly make a difference.
