More than just feedback you should include users and peers outside of the research team in your process. On the day to day they are the ones dealing with the problems you're trying to solve so getting constant feedback and shadowing them provides valuable insight.

How can you be an effective research leader?
Understand your audience, the communication of the the results is as important as the rest of the process. If you're talking to a technical audience, geeking out about the technical details of your research is great however if talking to executive members, focusing on the metrics and impact followed by a small demo (if interesting) would be the better approach.

This includes setting concrete standards for communication and defining what constitutes satisfactory progress and results. By doing so, you ensure that even the most experienced researchers have a clear direction, preventing them from getting lost in the expansive nature of research work. This approach not only aligns your team's efforts but also fosters a culture of accountability and clarity, essential for collaborative success.
