I have loved this class! Some of the principles I've learned are: 1. Amazon functions more like a search engine than any other e-commerce platform. 2. Margins are key! 3. Just because you have a high ROAS doesn't mean that people consistently filter through your funnel. If you focus solely on conversions now, your sales will suffer in the future.

Hello everyone! For the past month, I've been working on a consumer insights project based on one of my favorite shows produced by Warner Bros. Entertainment, Abbott Elementary! In this project, I dived into audience sentiment on the season 3 finale, which aired on May 22nd, 2024. I collected tweets from the night it aired, to the following day (May 23rd, 2024). Then, I leveraged Azure Machine Learning on Excel to conduct a sentiment analysis on these tweets. After this, I decided I wanted more insight into the viewers' reactions, so I created a survey on Google Forms. I administered this on Reddit for exactly one week. After receiving 40 responses, I analyzed the findings along with the tweets collected. Using survey data and sentiment analysis, I was able to pinpoint important patterns and viewer preferences. This allowed me to develop practical recommendations for improving audience interaction and upcoming episodes. I love conducting projects such as this one because TV shows like Abbott Elementary are well-written and hilarious. With season 4 airing on October 9th, I'm excited for what's to come. As someone who is naturally curious, these projects give me so much insight into audience reactions toward character arcs, and storylines. I can't wait to work for a company one day where I can leverage these skills and become an even better researcher. In addition to strengthening my data analysis and audience research abilities, this project highlighted how important it is to understand consumer behavior in the entertainment sector. I'm happy to announce that I have completed my summer internship at United Sewing and Design as a finance and marketing intern. This experience has been incredibly valuable in helping me understand my passion and develop career skills. Key experiences: Learning technical skills: I was introduced to many software that I needed to learn in order to fulfill my tasks, and having deadlines and metrics to meet has been a key motivator and accelerator to learning those skills. Approaching Challenges: This internship has given me the opportunity to approach real-world challenges in business. Through the help of my supervisor, I learned how to tackle and overcome obstacles that arose during the internship period. Transferrable skills: I'm majoring in engineering and my initial thoughts during my internship were "What I learned in class won't apply to what I'm doing right now" but I have found that to be false, I found myself using the problem-solving skills I learned In class in my everyday tasks. Going into my sophomore year at Trinity I now have a better understanding on what to value and focus on more to align my academic and career goals. I'm immensely grateful for this internship opportunity and look forward to what the future holds.
