In 2022, I enrolled in a training for Agile Scrum Master. Most people don't understand what "Agile" means. Per Scrum Alliance, "What is agile leadership? Agile leadership is not about scrum or kanban. It's not about processes or work practices. It's about how you see the world and relate to the people around you. An agile leader is somebody who has taken his or her ego out of the way of working with others — somebody who enables and exemplifies great collaboration."

A PSA from your friendly neighborhood Agile Person: If you are part of a team and feel like your Agile Person forces you to go to a hundred meetings that are pointless and a waste of time because some two page document said it was required to be successful... Tell your Agile Person that you feel this way. Communicate the things YOU need that would make the conversation valuable. Your Agile Person is here to help YOU be successful. Sometimes that means (gasp) less meetings! Meetings should have a clear goal and provide value to the people attending. If they don't, it may be time to evaluate if it actually needs to be a meeting. You should be empowered to discuss this with your team. It's easy to grow stagnant and go through the motions of "what did you do yesterday, what are you doing today, what's blocking you?" Down with boring and generic meetings! It's time to bring in the age of useful meetings! \o/ (also, it's been scientifically proven that meetings with fun, creative titles result in more engagement and productivity!)
