Live Events API Program

We have some exciting news – we recently launched the Live Events API Program, that allows third-party developers to access LinkedIn’s Live Events APIs!

Through partnering with us, your customers can now stream to LinkedIn. This will unlock a huge opportunity for your customers to continue to grow their audience. They can create and schedule Live Events on LinkedIn, directly to their company page or member profile.

What is the Live Events API program?

The Live Events API program allows third-party developers (that provide services such as conferencing, live streaming, live events, webinars, video production, podcasting, CRM, or marketing) with access to LinkedIn’s Live Events API endpoints. Within the Live Events API Program, you can either qualify as “Development Tier” or a “Standard Tier.”

What is the difference between a “Development (Dev) Tier” and “Standard Tier”

There are two tiers within this program. The first tier is the Dev Tier. This tier is intended to provide the developers with short-term, limited access to Live Events APIs. Developers will be in this tier for development and testing purposes only. We expect all developers to move to the Standard Tier upon completion of 6 months (or earlier). In a Standard Tier, all the restrictions from the Dev Tier will be removed.

What is the access criteria for Dev Tier?

Before providing access to the Dev Tier, we’ll perform a background verification to confirm that the developer is legitimate (Microsoft’s OneVet verification). We will also check their purpose for getting access to LinkedIn’s APIs to make sure the intention behind getting access is safe. We’ll need the developers to fill our access form and share their organization name, alternate organization name, email address, organization address, website, and a detailed description of how they would like to use our APIs.

How do we get certified from Dev tier to Standard Tier?

As there are fewer restrictions in the Standard Tier (compared to Dev Tier), developers will need to fill out an additional questionnaire to get certified to a Standard Tier, where they’ll have to demonstrate adhesion to various use cases, critical to ensuring your members receive the best LinkedIn Events experience.
