On Saturday the new YWI Cabinet Members received their Notice of Appointments from Governor Tim Walz and Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan at a fall kick-off event! The Young Women's Initiative of Minnesota (YWI MN) develops a legislative agenda, testifies at the Minnesota State Capitol, and empowers young leaders to make their voices heard. These incredible youth are grounded in the lived experience of their community and are charged with creating solutions for challenges they identify. Since 2016, this partnership between YWCA St. Paul, the Governor's Office, and the Women's Foundation of Minnesota has uplifted young women and gender-expansive youth aged 16-24. YWCA St. Paul proudly supports the YWI Cabinet members as they build their leadership and advocacy skills and bring their lived experience to the solutions YWI advances to achieve equity in opportunity for youth across the state. Congratulations to all the appointees!
