    Neal Mohan visits India for the first time as YouTube’s CEO! YouTube CEO Neal Mohan's recent visit was a whirlwind of activity filled with creator meet ups, discussions with prominent leaders and a taste of home (chaat, anyone?) In a candid fireside chat at our first ever Creator Summit hosted in Delhi with Curly Tales' Kamiya Jani, Mohan shared his exciting vision for YouTube's future in India, emphasizing the platform's power to connect creators and viewers. Mohan also handed over a milestone gift for KL Biju Bro, for achieving 50M Subscribers. The Creator Summit, India's premier event for top creators, celebrates our ever-growing creator ecosystem and drives creator growth conversations. This year, it was attended by more than 100 top creators. At #Brandcast, Mohan shared his insights on the platform's incredible growth in India and creators as the driving force behind it. He pointed out that YouTube creators in India are the new A-listers, shaping trends and attracting devoted fans. He also highlighted how YouTube has become the most-watched streaming service on connected TVs, with trillions of Shorts views in India. A personal highlight? Mohan whipping up some nostalgic chaat with Your Food Lab, a delicious nod to his Lucknow roots. 🍛 Can't wait for his next visit! 🇮🇳

Building on our existing supervised experience for pre-teens, and guided by independent experts hailing from a variety of backgrounds, parents and teens now have the option to link accounts and get shared insights and notifications as teens begin to create and share on YouTube.     A huge thank you to the creators, artists and fans who joined us for YouTube Fanfest India 2024, presented by Maruti Suzuki Arena 🎉. From YouTube OG creators such as Prajakta Koli & Nick (Beyounick) to gamers including Payal Gaming and Mythpat to artists like Sunidhi Chauhan, Jonita Gandhi, KING and many more: the stage was on fire with phenomenal performances, raw talent, and a larger than life show. Since 2014, YouTube Fanfest has pushed the boundaries of fandom, transforming how fans interact with their idols and this year was no different. Thousands of fans had special opportunities to connect with their favourite YouTube creators - from the red carpet to meet-and-greet sessions and experiential carnival zones. The event also spotlighted Diamond Creator Award winners, recognising these YouTube stars for surpassing 10MM subscribers. YouTube FanFest has showcased tens of thousands of creators worldwide to date, and FanFest India 2024 was another epic chapter in celebrating the connection between fans and creators that makes YouTube so special.     Did you know in the first six months of 2024 there were more than 3B views of videos related to running on YouTube? If you are a runner, you’ll know that running is more than just exercise. It's a 24-hour lifestyle that doesn’t stop when the trainers come off - and it shows up in so many different ways through the content we see on YouTube. This week, we celebrated our vibrant and global Running community in a way only YouTube could, by putting a spotlight on how they show up on the biggest creative platform on the planet. A BIG thank you to Jack Fletcher for reimagining the YouTube logo (we call this a Yoodle 😊), and for the local run clubs partnerships Tracksmith in London and KRAFT Runners in Berlin.     We've all witnessed the incredible rise of niche hobbies on YouTube, from #HobbyHorsing to #MiniBaking, #Kintsugi to #LutePlaying, there's a whole world of unique passions thriving online. But our research shows that over half (54%) of Brits prefer to go solo or learn with strangers when picking up a new hobby with some citing fear of judgement as their reason for why. We’re on a mission to change that. Last week, we launched a campaign celebrating these unique hobbies on YouTube, and we’ve teamed up with EVERPRESS to create a limited-edition collection of free t-shirts, encouraging everyone to proudly wear their passions on their sleeves. Massive shout out to the amazing creators Cakes By Lynz, Mr Carrington, and InnoScent Teddies for lending their niches to this campaign.
