In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, some Ys have already been able to re-open their doors and start providing assistance in their area. Unfortunately, many other Ys experienced the worst the storm had to offer and suffered terrible damage. While we don't yet know the full extent of their losses, we do know their recovery is going to be long and very difficult, and any support we can give them will be extremely helpful. Thank you. https://bit.ly/3TQn46c

1 in 5 kids in the U.S. are unsure where their next meal will come from--that’s why our food programs work year-round to address child hunger, providing consistent access to healthy meals in afterschool and summer programming to ensure kids have the nutrition they need to reach their full potential. September is Hunger Action Month and a challenge to all of us to take action to fight hunger in our own backyards. That’s why we’re so grateful to partners like Amway whose support will help us meet the nutritional needs of more young people in more communities. #HungerActionMonth #TheYFeedsKids

Afterschool programs at the Y are more than just a safe and reliable place to go when the school day ends. They also provide kids with much-needed opportunities for connection, a sense of belonging and a chance to foster real-world relationships—something needed now more than ever given recent reports about the rise of youth loneliness and social isolation. Discover how the Y’s afterschool programs help kids explore, learn and grow, ensuring they have the support they need to be successful both in and out of the classroom. https://lnkd.in/erYpAePe

Drowning is a silent crisis, claiming the lives of 4,500 people each year in the United States--yet it can be a preventable tragedy.
