X Games

While athletes were setting records and doing never been done tricks at #XGamesVentura, our partners were also accomplishing their own firsts. For the first time ever, we welcomed a presenting partner - SONIC Drive-In! Sonic had the Sonic Park course as well as the competition entitlements, where both BMX and skate athletes competed for #XGames medals. Fans also enjoyed the Sonic Club ’95 Live Free Lounge, complete with arcade games and iconic Sonic food and beverage items. Another first at Ventura - the X Games Mode Chain Presented by MobileX Global. These chains were created to celebrate athletes who constantly push boundaries and redefine what’s possible, whether it’s doing a never been done trick or powering through an injury - it’s what we call #XGamesMode. This year Nyjah Huston and Arisa Trew took these medals home for their incredible performances throughout the weekend. Finally, we saw live music return to X Games this year with artists Kaskade and Wiz Khalifa, and even a surprise appearance by mgk! Who should we bring out next?

#XGames isn’t only about the athletes, but also about the fans. We know we wouldn’t be where we are without our fans and so we aim to give them an experience to remember every time they step foot on our venues. Over 60,000 fans flocked to #XGamesVentura to celebrate the return of X Games, filling local businesses and the venue, and creating unforgettable action sports history! We completely sold out of 3-day SuperFan tickets for the weekend and VIP & SuperFan tickets on Saturday. This year we also expanded the venue footprint, brought back live music performances and made X Fest even bigger. That meant more brand activations, interactive experiences, scheduled entertainment, and all-day pro demos. And did we mention Rowdy The Skateboarding Dog? There was definitely something for everyone! What do you want to see at the next X Games?

WORLD’S FIRST kickflip body varial 900 🔥 Gui Khury has made history (again), and is no stranger to World’s First, or 900’s. Khury landed the first 1080 on a vert ramp securing him gold in Vert Best Trick at X Games 2021. The next year he landed the first-in-competition body varial 900 to get silver at X Games 2022. And let’s not forget the first-in-competition judo 900 to win gold at X Games California 2023. Gui continues to push the progression of skateboarding and we can't wait to see what crazy trick he puts down next. #XGames #Skateboarding #WorldsFirst

#XGames has always been about the athletes, and #XGamesVentura 2024 was no different. Of the 134 athletes who competed in Ventura, 36 of them were teens and pre-teens - the most since X Games Aspen 2006! Athletes from 19 countries competed at the event, with Colombia’s Jhancarlos Gonzalez and Portugal’s Gustavo Ribeiro earning the first X Games medals for their respective countries. We also witnessed some inspiring feats: Mia Kretzer became the youngest-ever X Games athlete and then won gold at the age of 9 years, 8 months! Nyjah Huston tied legends Shaun White and Garrett Reynolds for the most X Games gold medals in history (15!), Arisa Trew and Kevin Peraza set records, and there was so much more. This just goes to show how much history happens at these events and we can’t wait to keep telling these stories. What will happen next?

Each and every one of them crushed it and we’re stoked to be able to give them that platform to show up and show out. #skateboarding

#XGamesVentura 2024 had some huge wins when it came to digital & streaming. 1.9M Combined Livestream Views (across YouTube, Twitch and TikTok) - an incredible 69% YOY growth 610K+ TikTok Livestream Views (+100% YOY) 829K+ Twitch Livestream Views (+71% YOY) 20K+ YouTube Subscribers (+100% YOY) We’ve seen that the digital landscape is growing, and we are meeting our audience where they are, while giving them the best interactive experience possible. Our #XGames digital hosts, Jack Mitrani and Eunice Chang, did a great job providing viewers with exclusive content and engaging moments with athletes and guests.

The Lexus X Games Vert Pro is officially a wrap and one for the books! 📚 We brought the #XGames Vert ramp out to the Lexus US Open of Surfing at Huntington Beach for two absolutely banger weekends in a row and had some of the biggest names in skateboarding come with us, as well as some incredible up-and-comers. We witnessed never-been-dones, JD Sanchez's first ever 900, and a hand stand heard around the world.
