Whether a member uses 1 kWh of electricity or 1,000 kWh, the Cooperative still incurs the same cost to build the line, maintain the distribution system, and deliver the electricity. You can learn more about the Service availability charge at https://lnkd.in/g9GeKsuF.

Last week, our manager of Safety, Larry Hughes, spoke to Taney County Road and Bridge along with two of our Branson linemen, Bobby Gross and Aaron Michel, on line safety. Safety is one of the most important concerns of WRVEC and it’s always a great opportunity to get to educate and discuss this issue with those in the communities we serve.

Rise and shine - it’s another early day for crews assisting with Helene restoration efforts. Our hearts are with the Altamaha EMC family as the damage to their system was extensive. On their latest update they said , “What took years to build must now be restored in a matter of days and weeks. While some EMCs are estimating around 500 broken poles on their systems, we are facing the daunting task of replacing 1,500 or more broken poles throughout our service area.”

Your WRVEC crews are seeing your thoughts and prayers - they are still working hard on restoration efforts. Over 16,000 cooperative members remain without power. Despite going days without power, the kindness shown to them by the locals has been outstanding. One lady even brought them donuts to thank them for their service. The gratitude being shown to the thousands of linemen is not going unnoticed. Do you want to give back too? Yesterday our linemen arrived to their new temporary home where over 21,000 cooperative members are without power. Their home for the next few days are these tents ; the camp has semi trailers with shower systems and a portable laundry service. They are working hard to restore power to our Cooperative family facing devastation from Helene.
