FEMA has extended the usual 30-day grace period for National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) renewal premiums and renewal underpayment (additional premium) notice for properties in the following states affected by Hurricane Helene: Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia. The extension applies to any policyholder whose renewal payment due date or additional premium notice date was on or after September 26, 2024. The new deadline for receipt of renewal payment or the requested additional premium will now be due on or before November 26, 2024, or the application of the policy’s standard renewal grace period under the Standard Flood Insurance Policy (SFIP).
