We are thrilled to share an update on the Springfield Town Center project in Springfield, VA—marking the first new residential units since 2001! This unique project features a residential building, connected by a preexisting garage retrofitted to meet new needs. Extensive coordination was required to match the building elevations with the existing garage and the adjacent steel pedestrian bridge. Currently under construction, the residential apartment building will consist of three levels of post-tensioned concrete and five levels of wood framing, ultimately providing 439 residential units across just over 465,000 ft². Future residents will also enjoy a pool and an arbor courtyard connected by a pass-through loggia. We will keep you updated as construction progresses toward an expected completion date in October 2026! Project Team: Owner: The Hanover Company Residential Architect: W Partnership, Inc. Urban Genesis The Co-Op @ Farmers Market's construction is underway despite the heat! This project is located in proximity to the 18-acre Houston Farmer's Market, which is the oldest and largest farmer's market in the city. The long, narrow site guides the building's sleek, linear geometry, and the sawtooth articulation of form activates the building's facade. Looking forward to another great community in the heart of Houston!

We're a few days late, but did not want to miss the opportunity to end AAPIHM by sharing an important piece of our firm-- our stories! We enjoy celebrating the diverse backgrounds at WPI and believe sharing our stories makes our relationships rich. Phuong Nguyen has been with our firm for 36 years and has been integral to our team as a mentor, project manager and associate principal. Thank you phuong nguyen for sharing with us your journey to America! _____________________________________________ During the 1945 communist revolution, my parents had to live through trying times. Because of the communist slowly taking over, in 1954 my dad had to escape to South Vietnam in order to survive the prosecution that would come from the communist party. I was born in the South of Sai Gon in 1961. Since My Dad was a secret service agent for the current president, we were able to live a life that was fairly comfortable. But that didn't last long after the 1963 assassination of President Ngo Dinh Diem. After being wounded in one of the battles with Viet Cong, he was able to receive an honor discharge. We moved back to Sai Gon in 1966, and for a while life back in the city was quite normal. That changed though in 1968 when the Tet offensive began. The Tet offensive was a series of coordinated North Vietnamese attacks on more than 100 cities and outposts in South Vietnam. Unfortunately, in the middle of the night one evening our town was hit especially hard. Our family of 6 had to escape with nothing but the clothes on our backs. We stayed in the refugee camp for a year, since half of our house was destroyed. After the Tet Offensive, from 1969-1975 life would return to normal. Although we would still hear gun fights every night from a distance. After another North Vietnamese invasion in 1975, we decided to leave by sea aboard a small boat and were eventually rescued by an American Navy ship. We were then transported to Guam island and to Fort Chaffee Arkansas. In order to come over to America we were sponsored by a Baptist church after a two month stay in the Fort Chaffee camp. Coming to a new country and restarting our lives was a challenge, especially for my parents and older brother (he had to quit school and work in order to help my Dad). To feed a family of 9 on an extremely low salary was hard, yet somehow we were able to make it work. For us younger kids though we were able to adapt more quickly. Since we didn't know any English we would make new friends by communicating with our hands and movements. We all are working hard to achieve the American dream. Now we are here because we took full advantage of what this country has offered us. All 7 of us were able to go to college and obtain a degree that would help make us successful. I would like to thank America for giving us the opportunity to be successful and the freedom they gave my family coming over from Vietnam.

We're celebrating another completed project! The Kippford at Kemah Crossing is a vibrant luxury apartment complex a short walk from the Kemah Boardwalk in Texas. The coastal design of this project visibly connects the community to its surroundings through form and material and the project is also designed to withstand hurricane wind speeds of just over 140 mph! Today I had the pleasure of walking through The Palmer, a stunning 382 unit apartment community in Round Rock, TX. This beautiful project offers a mix of 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units with amazing amenities that tenants will love. From a cowork lounge with private offices to a fitness center, pool with outdoor seating, and multiple outdoor grills for entertaining, this project has it all! Not to forget, pickleball court and a dog park for our furry friends. I am proud to have been a part of this project at W Partnership, Inc. alongside Stanmore Partners and Hoar Construction. Looking forward to future projects with this amazing team! Check out some pictures of the beautiful community in this link to The Palmer's website: https://lnkd.in/gzfD56D2.

Friday was the perfect day to celebrate our friends at High Street Residential and Daiwa House Texas Inc. for their leasing kick-off for the Residences at Kingwood project AND the groundbreaking for their next phase! This project started towards the beginning of the pandemic, and it was a new experience learning how to pivot towards collaborating virtually. We spent many Zoom and Teams calls dreaming up what this community would be like with Yewande Fapohunda and the HSR team, and we're grateful for the opportunity to design a variety of different living styles, with a mix of apartment flats and townhomes, stitching them all together with meaningful outdoor spaces. We're looking forward to Phase II and seeing both communities become lively homes to many residents of this beautiful Kingwood neighborhood. Congratulations to the entire team! Beautiful photos by Andy Phan
